Congratulations to the Class of 2022!
We are excited to announce the graduation of the Circle de Luz Class of 2022! The Class of 2022 is composed of seven amazing young women who are known for their creativity, courage, and resilience. These bright, persistent students worked tirelessly to finish high school and prepare for their post-secondary educational experiences while also navigating the many unexpected challenges that were brought on by a global pandemic.
We had the privilege of hosting a small, in-person graduation celebration with the students, their families, and their Circle de Luz support network at Queens University on Thursday, June 23. We were thrilled to welcome Ohavia Phillips as the Keynote Speaker for the night. Ohavia is a Charlotte-based community leader and activist who delivered an inspiring and empowering speech to our graduates. This graduation ceremony also provided us with the opportunity to celebrate the Class of 2022 Class Captains – the four women who provided guidance, mentorship, care, and community to the Class of 2022 through their six-year journey with Circle de Luz. Six students will be continuing their education at Central Piedmont Community College this coming year, and one will be attending the University of North Carolina Charlotte in the fall. We are so proud of our graduates and the incredible community that has supported them throughout their journey!
