Why I answered the Call to the Circle June 12, 2008

When Rosie first outlined her plan for Circle de Luz to me, I knew that it was something I had to be a part of. When I read the statistics that Rosie had uncovered, I was floored. And horrified! Latinos are one of the fastest growing demographics in this country. This means that young Latinas continuing education is vitally important. Latinos are quickly becoming an integral part of this country and we need strong, educated Latinas to lead us into the future. So, for me, being part of Circle de Luz was something I had to do. Anything I can do help these young ladies secure a bright future for themselves is something I’m more than willing and proud to do.
